Serenity Retreat Residence

Our accommodation for the retreats affords guests a high quality, homely and personalised experience. The residence is secluded, secure and private. There are many beautiful manicured garden areas and paddocks, outdoor rooms and special features to explore and enjoy during your free time.

As the seasons within nature unfold the gardens reflect the time of year. We have a diverse seasonal vegetable garden and orchard that supply a bounty for
our kitchen. All meals are produced freshly in-house, using the finest local ingredients. Our menus are planned daily, and influenced by seasonal availability, based on both traditional Irish recipes and international flavours and cuisines. Guests appreciate and commend us on the efforts we put into our meal planning, preparation and our attention to details  to complement our food and their home-dining experience.

We have excellent farm producers in this locality and excellent quality fresh fish that I bring into the seasonal menu which include main course of seasonal salads and vegetables are also served.

Beauty is something we, as humans, uniquely respond to ...  it can be heightened through mindful awareness and appreciation. The Serenity Residence boasts various rooms within the home for you to explore and spend time in. You can also experience the aesthetic beauty of music, art and literature ... in a nod to Maslow's beliefs on the needs of humans as they strive towards reaching their highest potential.

"A room without books is like a body without a soul." Cicero.
You can take time to sit and read one of our books in the upstairs library.

Why not take afternoon tea at your leisure in the sitting-room simply because ... "there are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea." - Henry James.

Our music conservatory has a variety of musical instruments for you to use, including a baby grand piano, violins, guitars etc. We sometimes have evening activities that include music, recitations, poetry and literature readings! "Music expresses feeling and thought, without language; it was below and before speech, and it is abov
e and beyond all words." Robert G. Ingersoll -

It is our joy to welcome guests all year round.

Located within 10 minutes drive from the M8 Dublin - Cork motorway and also the train station in Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
