Are you a Concerned Person, the spouse, partner, parent, adult child, close friend, or sibling who is living with or is affected by someone else's addiction and/or mental health issues, either historical issues or current situations? If yes, we have a Therapeutic Wellbeing Retreat dedicated to your specific wellness needs.

Often times all of the attention and focus is on the addicted or unwell person with all efforts going into supporting them to get the help and support they require. Consequently, the Concerned Person is often left to carry the lion's share of maintaining a household, providing financial support, child caring and rearing etc. The ways in which the Concerned Person strives to survive in times of adversity are innumerable.

Supporting someone who is struggling with addiction and/or mental health issues can be exhausting, frustrating and painful, stoking emotions of fear, uncertainty and hopelessness. Promises are often broken, and trust is sometimes thin on the ground. Hearts and spirits ache, yet you are not willing to give up on them but something is telling you that you need to step back and look after yourself right now and find the right supports for you.

At our Concerned Persons Retreat you will strengthen your resilience and self-esteem, enhance your appreciation of self-compassion and self-love. The time and energy you invest in our programme is designed to strengthen your inner-resolve, sooth your heart and restore your spirit so that primarily you help yourself and as a result you will be able support others around you.

You will engage with a tailored psycho-educational programme with Theresa to identify and address your specific therapeutic needs. In addition, the wellbeing retreat will include Talking Therapy, Sound Therapy, Mindfulness in Nature, Meditation. Yoga and somatic movement body work sessions of 90 minutes duration with a specialist Yoga and Somatic Movement practitioner are an optional extra activity that can be arranged on your behalfThe itinerary is well balanced, enjoyable and up-lifting as well as being held in a safe and supportive environment.

Theresa completed her Masters Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy internship practicum experience in one of Irelands leading residential addiction treatment facilities.
